Remarks: We are delighted to offer this good condition Prophet 5 Rev 3.3 that was fully pro-restored in August 2013 but an respected UK synth tech we know well.

These are unique sounding instruments and don’t be fooled in thinking the Prophet 08 is an alternative – it’s really not. There’s a certain punch and warmth that this Curtis chipset based system delivers, and you just have to listen to a-ha, Soft Cell and Genesis etc. to appreciate how influential this synth was to musicians in the 1980s….and still is today.

Did you know that the Prophet 5 can be set up to operate in different temperaments from equal-temprement. The operating system allows you to program microtonal adjustments across the keyboard, and store this in the synth memory locations. This is not something we have tried, but the user manual goes into some depth about how to achieve it.

This particular example has the upgraded memory to hold 120 programs, but does not have the factory MIDI fitted. We are able to supply and fit a Kenton MIDI kit if required although this upgrade cost option is not reflected in the sales price below – please email us for a quote.

The operational condition is excellent, although we will service the synth again prior to handing over to the new owner. The cosmetic condition is good, but there are a couple of blemishes that we have identified in one of high-res pictures below. These blemishes mean the synth cannot be sold as a pristine example, so this is not a collector-grade instrument, but probably more a everyday musicians synth, thats works flawlessly. The Prophet 5 has been priced to reflect it’s overall condition.

This has to be the one of the finest analogue polysynths ever made and was used by all the top artists of the 80’s, especially JMJ.  Built in 4 track sequencer 8 voice polyphonic, twin oscillator 24 dB/octave low pass filter 6 & 12 dB/octave band pass filters 12 dB/octave high pass filter. The specification doesn’t tell you that this is a silky smooth performer and in the right hands can deliver and almost polyphonic modular experience…just an amazing machine.

The overall condition of this Synths is very good indeed and representative of a well looked after 30+ year old vintage synth with just the normal signs of wear to the panels and wood cabinet.

This example is in superb condition, 100% original and an un-modified standard version, so no MIDI but a prime candidate for the LAMM upgradeor MIDI socket-upgrade from Kenton if so wished.

Memorymoogs have to be in the top 5 list of machines for any serious analogue fan and among the most individual sounding (monster) polysynths ever made. These instruments have become very hard to find in the last 5 years or so in anything like decent condition and demand, as with so many of the truly iconic synths from this period, has increased significantly leaving a big hole in the market for top quality examples.

Our vintage synth restorers, KSR, have considerable experience in restoring Memorymoogs – which is more of an art form than an engineering function, and as such, each synth gets around 20+ hours of meticulous & skilled work invested into them just on the electronic side then the aluminum case is deep cleaned and the wood cabinet hand-finished (stripped, stained and waxed) to reveal the beautiful wood character to it full.

This Jupiter 6 has the Europa upgrade fitted and was purchased from new, in the UK, by the customer we are now selling it for. I has only ever been used in the owners home and lovingly cared for as their prized possession for over 30 years, but they have finally decided to let it go to fund other music projects.

The famed ‘Europa’ firmware upgrade for the Jupiter-6 provides a truly modern MIDI specification where all the synth front-panel parameters are controllable via Continuous Controller (SysEx). This brings the Jupiter 6 beautifully into the 21st Century DAW environment and adds significant ‘owners’ value to the synth.

Remarks: This model has become the most popular (and affordable) Vintage Analogue Polysynth in the world, well we think it has, and strong demand from our customers would support this belief.

The Juno 60 is the same synth as the Juno 6 but the 60 has programmable memories and MIDI Capability. As with it’s sibling, the sound engine is the same beautifully warm vintage Roland sound, but having the memories on the 60 makes it more of a ‘go-to’ synth for working musicians wanting that vintage sound.

This factory standard Juno 60 has come to us from a long standing RL Music customer who is downsizing his synth collection, which is all in ‘collectors quality’ condition. We know this because we sold this Juno 6o to them late last year! Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Rev 3.2 with Kenton MIDI

We’re delighted to be able to offer you this really superb condition Prophet 5 that has only just been fully restored by KSR.

Restoration included full system overhaul (re-capped/calibration etc) and clean and keyboard assembly deep-clean with new bushings.  The wood case has been also been re-finished with new name plates fitted etc.  All the potentiometers and micro-switches were cleaned as well so all are smooth to touch and operate. The original factory patches have also been loaded to finish her off and presents a cosmetic finish that looks as-new and 100% perfect in operation.

The Memorymoog is an outstanding analogue polysynth that is unique and unrivalled in sheer power and character. Moog did the best they could with the technology of the day, but Lintronics developed this amazing system further to become the world renown Lintronics Advanced Memorymoog (LAMM).

Not very often we get the chance to get hold of a LAMM but we managed to source this amazing vintage synth from a musician who has gone 100% VSTi…! Well, our gain for sure, and having a Memorymoog in stock alone would be treat enough but the Lintronics versions are highly coveted. The LAMM upgrade charges are near the cost of the donor machine these days, plus the waiting time to have it done, so here’s a great opportunity to get yours. The LAMM upgrade on this particular model was carried out by Bob Moog’s team (Big Briar) in the USA during the 1990s – we have documented evidence of this.

This LAMM is also a very special as it has gone through our unique ‘Total Restoration’ process that has involved every possible aspect of the synths cosmetic and operational integrity, and taken over 6 months to complete. We have had all the control surfaces re-finished, new scratch-resistance stickers made and a brand new Walnut cabinet made for it by Lamond Design. Remarks: Vintage analogue modular systems always have something special to offer, be it the sound, the heritage, the wonderful design, or perhaps in this case all three in fact.

The Roland 100M is a stunning and totally uniquely fashioned modular system manufactured around the late 1970s. The 100M is consistently considered a top-tier must-have vintage modular synthesizer by a huge number of fans, so the passage of synthy-time has clearly been kind enough that it should tell you something about this beautiful instrument.

We recently purchased this impressive vintage analogue modular system from a UK collector. The overall condition is excellent cosmetically and everything worked as it should, although we are having the entire system fully restored as standard practice for and vintage modular systems we sell.

The 184 Keyboard controller offers true polyphonic CV/Gate control of this impressive system and has: 49-notes (C-C) 4-voice, with switchable mono/polyphonic, an arpeggiator, and polyphonic portamento. With the number of VCO/VCF/VCA/EG modules included in this modular there is easy scope to run the instrument polyphonically, or configure it in such a way that you could produce some seriously complex sounds, all triggered simultaneously.

Ask yourself that question – when is a modular system big enough?

So you can have an aspiration to own something the size of Hans Zimmer’s 100M, but the reality is you also need to sleep and eat, and actually get work done (deadlines?). There is an ‘optimal’ configuration that covers all the bread & butter work and then there should be some more exotic facilities. We honestly think this 4 cab + controller system as such is an optimal system. This would (arguably) offer more than enough facility and power to satisfy even the most demanding professional.

Our friends at KSR are subjecting this 100M to an extensive restoration with everything being addressed, from cleaning sockets, sliders, switches etc to the full electronic restoration: calibration and testing etc. The 184 Keyboard will be stripped and deep cleaned and the action restored to as-new condition. The restoration will ensure many years of reliable service and the system will be sold with a 6 month warranty.

KSR are converting the whole system to operate on EU 220V. The modular will be supplied with an assortment of patching cables which were supplied with the system.

Remarks: Cosmetically this particular OB8 is in immaculate condition (which is rare these days) and, being a late model, comes with the sought after Page 2 screen print on the front-panel & factory midi is also fitted. As its name suggests, this is a powerful 8 voice, Curtis based, polyphonic old-skool analogue synth, and once the staple of real men in real rock bands. We are not certain but it’s said that Justin Beieber does NOT own an OB-8.

This particular example was in fact very recently fully overhauled by KSR, so in 100% perfect operational condition, although we will have the synth serviced once again prior to shipping to its new owner, once sold.

Unlike our other Chroma for sale on th RL Music website, this customer owned machine does NOT have the CC+ CPU upgrade so is priced accordingly, but the restoration work we commit to in preparing these machines for sale remains the same regardless.

The key to restoring one of these fabulous instruments is finding a good quality example in the first place, and our customer machine qualifies beautifully. This superb example will be subjected to an extensive restorative overhaul, both cosmetically and operationally, to produce something similar to the library shot you can see below from a previous restoration we did. Remarks: This beautiful vintage synthesizer is in pristine condition – all front panel surfaces, wood surround and tolex in excellent condition. This is a ‘home only’ used instrument, so kept and used in a gentle environment which is clearly reflected in the condition.

The CS60 is a 8 note polyphonic system with velocity, after-touch and a ribbon 
controller which offers the player a really organic feel into the performance of the instrument. Other key real-time control facilities, such as the LFO/ring-modulator section really make the CS60 a great players instrument – it’s all about the performance with the big CS polys. 

The resonant qualities of the Yamaha CS series filter are unmatched by any other polysynth so they sound unique.

Remarks: It’s a real privilege to own this wonderful and rare 1970s vintage analogue Korg PS3200 polysynth, and we’re very happy to be able to offer such an amazing instrument for sale.

The PS3200 is a fully polyphonic, 16 memory semi-modular system incorporating divide-down technology driving 2 VCO’s and micro tuning ability. The technical specification aside, this instrument defines the word “ambient” and has the most wonderful warm, rich and charecterful sound that any vintage polysynth can deliver….a truly unique machine.

This PS3200 has very recently been extensively operationally overhauled so is in perfect working condition but KSR will fastidiously go over the whole machine for us as it’s being stripped down and rebuilt. Due to it’s age and wear, we are having the panels re-finished on this which includes re-spraing and re-screen printing etc. In addition, we are commissioning Lamond Design to build a new sold Walnut Cabinet (renewable resourced) for the synth and keyboard. This level of restoration is a significant investment in time and resources but for such a rare and historically important synth it’s worth the effort and expense. Once the restoration is complete this will without doubt be the best condition PS3200 in the world.

We have also purchased a brand new Kenton MIDI retrofit Kit for this PS3200 which will be fitted as part of the overall restoration work, so this instrument is sold with MIDI functionality.

The picture supplied below is from an earlier PS3200 we restored & sold, but we anticipate this next one to be as beautiful as this example.

Availability: This Korg PS3200 is now SOLD as at 7th October 2013.

It’s been quite a while since we have one of these wonderful synths in stock and we managed to find this from a UK seller who had owned it for some 20 years. They had not used for most of that time so stored it safely. That’s a good thing in some respects as it’s completely original and untampered with so a solid base to start the restoration from.

Our restoration work on this instrument started in August 2012 with a complete strip-down by KSR and the old (worn out) cabinet being taken up to Ross Lamond, of Lamond Design. We commissioned Ross to hand-build a replacement solid Walnut cabinet (no expense spared) and the results have been sublime. In the meantime, Kent at KSR spent around 6 weeks meticulously overhauling the synth so that, once the hand-made cabinet had arrived, he could marry the electronics & Walnut enclosure together and go through final testing etc.

This was a detailed and time consuming restoration but the results speak for themselves. The synth works beautifully and looks like new.

The PS3100 is a fully polyphonic synthesizer that uses divide-down technology to great effect. Much has been written about it’s fabled Resonator but it’s much more than just about that. Features such an ensemble, temperament adjust for each Oscillator and being semi-modular as well makes this a powerful instrument, and In skilled hands this is a very creative tool indeed.
