Remarks: 

The TR-909 is simply a classic sounding analogue drum machine and used by a huge array of top artists with thousands of reviews on-line so we’re not going to tell you anything new here. Most professional musicians we know have at least 2 or even 3 of these machines and they usually get very heavy studio and live use which is a testament to the rugged, stable and reliable design from Roland in the mid 80s.

Our client has owned this TR-909 for a few years having rescued it from a secondary school music department clearcut as it was marked for being thrown out, so we’d say that was a really very good save and result.

MIDI was fitted as standard by Roland on these models.

This TR-909 is fully operational and the cosmetic presentation (see pictures below) is very good with some marks/wear and signs of it age (39+ years), and the name of the school was etched into the base of the machine but it’s not visible when in use. Also, someone has used indelible pen indicating that the unit is fully earthed….good to know.

This is a good honest example that works perfectly and very recently has recently had a full service and battery fitted, and the price has been agreed with our client to reflect the condition, so is the best value TR-909 available in the world right now, being sold from a specialist dealer.

This TR-909 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty. This is a 220~240V machine that is powered via a standard IEC cable, so it will not require a step-down transformer for UK or EU buyers.  Included in the sale is the original owners manual, which is a little worn but intact and we will include a brand new IEC power-cable as well in the price.

Remarks: The CR78 has to be one of the most distinctive drum machines ever made, and has been used by used by artist such as: Brian Ferry, Gary Numan, 808 State, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, Ultravox etc. 

Our client has owned this CR78 since mid-2019, having purchased it from a private seller in Belgium, whom had owned it from new. Kent at KSR has just given the CR78 a full health check, so it’s all ready for its new owner.

This CR78 is fully operational, does not have any modifications and the cosmetic presentation is excellent aside some tiny marks to the faux wood cabinet (see pictures below).

Included in the sale is also a Future Retro Swynx unit (pictured below), a sync box that converts MIDI signals into MIDI clock, DinSync24, CR-78 clock and analog clock.  Our client has supplied to us the Swynx and its external UK (220~240V) 3-pin type power-supply but no cables.

This CR78 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty. As it was originally sourced from the EU, it’s fitted with the EU style 2-pin socket but we can replace that with a UK type if it’s sold in the UK, but it operates on 220~240V.  We can supply the user manual in PDF format.

Remarks: The demand for high-quality examples of the world’s most famous drum machine continues to grow, so we were delighted to be able to offer this outstanding condition TR-808. 

Our client has owned this beautiful condition TR-808 for several years and had it fully serviced a few years ago by KSR who also retrofitted the Kenton MIDI kit into it. Kent at KSR has just given the drum machine a full health check so it’s all ready for its new owner.  It also comes with the perspex overlay, which is showing its age now but it’s done a fine job of protecting the panel.

Plenty has been said & written about this iconic instrument, and the significant number of clones/copies, and even Roland’s TR08, are all made in homage to the iconic status that the original machines hold.  It sounds great of course and is one of those ‘must-have’ instruments if you’re serious about your vintage analogue sound.

The operational condition is flawless, and as you can see in the high-res pictures below, the cosmetic condition is fabulous with only a tiny amount of any noticeable wear, which for an instrument that’s now 40+ years old is quite something.

Remarks: 

Here’s a very rare opportunity to pick up a beautiful vintage Oberheim collection that centres around a superb condition OB-Xa, and is companioned by the DX Drum Machine and  DSX Polyphonic Sequencer.  

Background:

Our client, the owner of this superb condition collection, originally purchased the OB-Xa from us in 2017, when we had fully restored it that year, so it’s been good to see this synth again.  Our client went to a lot of time, expense and trouble to subsequently source the DX and DSX machines from collectors, and was only ever interested in absolutely top condition examples.  All three machines have been located in our client’s home studio since he purchased them.

In addition, our client had made some very high-quality (branded) covers for the OB-Xa and DX Drum Machine.  The DSX also has the original proprietary interconnect cable to run the sequencer into the OB-Xa. We’ve included multiple pictures here to show all these items.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition is excellent with just some small signs of wear to the control surfaces and wood end-cheeks of all three machines.  You can also see from the pictures we took that all three instruments are fully 100% intact, so all have their original Oberheim knobs, faders etc.   

This OB-Xa is an 8 voice system that has the 120 program memory upgrade fitted, as well as a Kenton MIDI kit.

Health-Check & Servicing:

As mentioned above, this system has been through the hands of Kent at KSR as a pre-sales health check and everything was 100% operational, but we will have all three instruments fully checked again post-sale and any service items needed will be applied, but the OB-Xa was fully restored in 2017, as mentioned.

The OB-Xa & DSX operates on either US110V or EU220V, the DX is an EU voltage model. A UK type IEC cable will be supplied in the sale for all three machines. We also can produce a PDF copy of the user manual for the OB-Xa and DSX.

Service Status: 

Full health-check by KSR was carried out in late October 2021, but a detailed service will be carried out once the unit is sold, which will add around 14 days the to the post-sale completion.

Remarks: 

This rare and highly sought after drum machine carved out a stellar reputation back in the early 80s, and was used on many of the worlds biggest hit records.  A fine reputation, and well deserved, for one of the first sample based players on the market.  The LM-1 It offers twelve 8-bit percussion samples, which can be individually tuned: kick, snare, hi-hat, cabasa, tambourine, two toms, two congas, cowbell, claves, and hand claps, all of which can be assigned within the stereo field from the front-panel toggle-switches.. The machine also introduced features quantisation, shuffle and the ability to chain patterns.

This LM-1 has come to us from the son of the original owner who died some years ago, so the drum machine had not been in use for a while.  Kent at KSR gave the LM-1 a check over and found everything to be working well, but a full service will be carried out post-sale on this.

Visually, the LM-1 is in very good cosmetic condition, with only a few marks to the painted surfaces, and the woods does have a patina that’s consistent with an instrument of this age, so it’s not been restored or modified in any way.  The slider-caps that are fitted to the LM-1 are not originals, and in our option, are badly fitting, so the LM-1 would benefit from a full replacement set of either the correct factory style LM-1 style caps or something more suitable for the slider tops.  All other controls fitted are factory correct.

Operationally, this LM-1 all seems to work perfectly, but as mentioned above, a full service will be carried out by KSR post-sale. The cost of the servicing is included in the sale price. This will add a couple of weeks to post-sale process, plus ordering in the packaging for shipping it takes about 10 days anyway (if required), so please allow for this time for getting everything ready when placing your order.

As you might have seen from the pictures, this LM-1 only operates on UK/EU 220~240V so does not have an externally switchable power supply, so you will need a step-up transformer to use it in the US or Asia.  

We do have the original user manual supplied with this, but it’s tatty and worn, but is still a useful document. Also, a UK 3-pin IEC mains cables is provided with the LM-1 as well as a dual 1/4 inch jack to RCA cable. 

As the instrument is being Brokered through RL Music, it will be sold with a full 3-month warranty and we can ship worldwide.

Remarks: The Roland TR-606 was the analogue drum machine that was designed to be paid with the iconic TB-303 Bass Line.  The design cues are obvious really, so this was a cool and funky machine that musicians ‘on a budget’ could get access to drum and bass…in effect.

Our client has owned this immaculate condition TR-606 for several years and had it fully serviced a few years ago, but KSR has just gone through it again to ensure it’s all ready for its new owner.

The operational condition is flawless, and as you can see in the high-res pictures below.

The cosmetic condition of this example is at the highest level we have seen. Clearly, this drum machine has been very well cared for with home use only in its 38-year life.

This TR-606 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty and can operate on EU 220V. Also, we can supply the user manual in PDF format. The original box and carry bag are also supplied in this sale along with an external PSU.

We’re very happy to be able to offer this excellent condition TR808, which has been retro-fitted with a Kenton MIDI kit. The cosmetic condition of this example is at the highest level we have seen. Clearly, this drum machine has been very well cared for with home use only in its 30+ year life.
