Remarks: This Jupiter 6 (serial # 333020) was purchased by our client some years ago and is only ever used in the home.  The cosmetic condition is excellent, and the whole synth only shows light indications of use with some marks to the panels, which we hope the photos provided will show, but this is a high-quality 40 years old vintage instrument.

The Jupiter 6 has been a hugely popular polysynth since it arrived in 1983. It offers aficionados that beautiful vintage polyphonic analogue Roland sound for a very reasonable cost compared to its sibling, the Jupiter 8.  Prices for these models in recent years have seen a significant uplift as vintage polysynths are getting rarer and rarer to find in good condition.

Our client, the owner of the synth, purchased it in 2005 from a UK seller, and this being a 240V machine would suggest it’s always been in the UK, so not an import. The JP6 has never been gigged, and the cosmetic condition stands as a testament to it being exceptionally well cared for throughout its 40 years since manufacture. 

This JP6 has the hugely popular Europa Modification implemented, which expands the capability of this already superb vintage polysynth; we also have printed copies of the Europa User manuals, which we will supply upon sale to the new owner. Additionally, the original aluminium end-cheeks have been overlayed with retro-style hardwood wood pieces, which are in excellent shape.  This ‘bolt-on’ cosmetic mod can be removed if unwanted, but it’s something we have seen on a few JP6, and it either adds or subtracts to the synth, which depends on your viewpoint.

Remarks: This Roland Juno 60, JSQ-60 and Boss KM-60 were purchased by our client brand new (from our Client’s memory) around 1983 from a music shop based in Chelmsford, and all three items have only ever been used in the home.  The cosmetic condition is outstanding for all three machines, pristine and almost (if not) as-new condition. These are usable vintage instruments, so they have intrinsic value as such but the condition of this collection more than qualifies as something a collector would cherish.

We are going to try and sell this collection as a bundle for two reasons; 

Firstly as they were all bought together and have been used together for 40 years, so it would be ideal to not split them up if possible.

Secondly, as these actually all make excellent partners in terms of operating and mixing, especially with that stunning condition analogue keyboard mixer, the KM-60

The Juno 60

The design of the Juno 60 has to be one of the best Roland ever produced in terms of simplicity of sound design and warmth of character. The Juno 60 has been a ‘go-to’ synth for working musicians wanting that vintage sound for quite a while now.  It kind of defies logic that a DCO synth could deliver such a lush and musical tone, and it won the hearts and minds of all synthesists who’d had the opportunity to own or play one. 

This is, we feel, the cleanest all original example we have had through our business, with the buttons and keys so clean and white, it’s like looking at a brand new machine. Included in the sale is the original Roland Patch Program Data Cassette and owner’s manual.

This synth sounds and operates like all Juno 60 should, and KSR has fully serviced the synth, so it’s 100% working perfectly and good to go.  Aside from the DCB Port, there is no modern MIDI retrofit to this example, but as it’s in such beautiful original condition it would be such a shame to drill holes into the pristine metal panel.  Kenton still produces a Pro-DCB MIDI converter, so we would recommend going this route to maintain the originality for MIDI functionality, but if you must have a more sophisticated MIDI access then please call and speak to us about what options are available and costs etc.

The price has been agreed with our client to reflect the outstanding condition as we both recognise this to be a vastly superior quality example to what most people are trying to sell online around the world. 

The Juno JSQ-60

This was Roland’s solution to a dedicated polyphonic sequencer for the Juno 60, which connects via the proprietary DCB port on the synth from a Roland sequencer. A useful 2000-step unit that’s simple to use and an effective partner for its time.

As you can see from the photos, the unit comes still contained within its original EO retail packaging. The cosmetic condition is excellent with only tiny areas showing any imperfections, and we have provided some photos below that show all angles of the sequencer so you can get a feel for it’s overall quality.

KSR has fully serviced the synth, so it’s 100% working perfectly and good to go, and we have purchased a brand new 9V DC 1A external power supply (UK model) for this, which is included in the price.

The Boss KM-60 6-Channel Analogue Mixer

A very well-known and sought-after analogue mixer that Boss produced in the late 1970s. It’s a stereo 6-channel machine that offers onboard EQ, effects send and panning,  some lovely VU-meters and a beautiful aesthetic that fits perfectly with the Juno-60 and JSQ-60.  There’s a lot of love for this little mixer, we used to own one back in the day so know it well and have fond memories of our ownership. Certainly, you can buy a lot more ‘mixer’ these days, but period-correct equipment has a unique appeal and the KM-60, especially in this condition, is very much collectable and only set to become more desirable as the years go by.

As you can see from the pictures, it’s is fantastic cosmetic condition with only the smallest evidence that tells you this mixer is over 40 years old.

KSR have fully serviced the mixer, cleaned all the potentiometers and jack-sockets and re-capped the PSU, so it’s 100% working perfectly.  We all know that mixers impart a lot of character to the tone of the instruments used through them, and the KM-60 was produced with the Roland product set being sold at that time in mind, so the Juno-60 is the perfect partner for it. Its a trackable mixer but this example has never been used that was so is completely unblemished…stunning.

Remarks: A beautiful condition Roland Jupiter 8 (12bit model) – Serial Number: 161512, which has been retrofitted with a Groove MIDI kit.

We are always very happy to sell any Jupiter 8 and this one is an excellent representative example that has MIDI as well. What can we say that hasn’t already been written about the JP8…honestly, nothing new.  However, we’ve seen relative values for this flagship vintage analogy poly-synth climb sharply in recent years, so they’ve become unaffordable to most people, which is a real shame.

The overall condition is excellent, with far less than he normal amount of wear we would expect to see on a synth this age, so this example has been very well cared for throughout its existence. The photos below tell the story, but even the base of this JP8 is in great shape.

We discussed the price at some length with our client and agreed keep the sale price as reasonable as is possible for this model, so we think you will find this cheaper by far than any currently available JP8 for sale in the world right now, in comparable condition, with MIDI, fully serviced and sold with a guarantee.

Remarks: This more modern analogue synth, although over two decades old now (vintage yet?), has some serious curb appeal and could never be accused of lacking facility or punch.

The A6 is an inspired design by Alesis, but with production ceasing some years ago, the synth achieved cult status amongst synthesists, so another great synth for the halls of fame and used by too many artists to list.

The current owner has owned the A6 for only a few short years and only ever used it at home (smoke & pet free etc.), so the cosmetic and operational condition of the A6 is pristine. We sold this A6 to our customer back in 2018, so we know this machine’s quality is very high.

Our customer purchased one of the excellent quality Stardust synth covers for the A6 (pictured below), which is included in the sale.

Kent at KSR has gone through the A6, checking the power supply, the operational functions/switches, memory etc., and deep cleaning all the potentiometers, so there are no ‘jumping’ encoders, which is a known weakness of these machines.  As you can see from our photos, it’s cosmetically like new.

We present the rare and rather epic Memorymoog (standard Mk1 version), in excellent cosmetic condition and was previously sold to our client after it had been fully overhauled to top operational condition in 2017.

Background:

Our client purchased this Memorymoog from RL Music in late 2017 and had a Kenton MIDI retrofit kit added to it at that time.  The Moog has been used only in a home studio since then and had been back to KSR for a check over and calibration.

Condition:

Although no cosmetic restoration has been carried out other than deep-cleaning to all the exterior surfaces, the cosmetic condition is 100% original and excellent, as you can see from the pictures below.

Being an ex-RL Music restored Memorymoog, we are proud to see this instrument looking so beautiful and perfectly working, so a testament to the investment made into its preparation 5 years ago.

Health-Check & Servicing:

KSR has already full assessed the Memorymoog for us before we put this up for sale, so we know it’s in perfect working order, but we will have another health check carried out post-sale, which will add around 14 days to the post-sale completion. A full system-wide operational restoration by KSR was carried out in 23rd August 2017.

We’re delighted to be able to offer this beautiful condition Memorymoog which has had the fabled Lintronics upgrade (LAMM) implement into it at some time in its past.  

The Memorymoog is an outstanding analogue hybrid polysynth that is unique and unrivalled in sheer power and character. Moog did something amazing creating this beautiful instrument, and they pushed the technology of the day to its limits. But then, Lintronics developed an amazing upgrade to deliver arguably the most powerful vintage analogue polysynth ever, and a synthesizer that sits perfectly in a 21st Century production environment.

Having a Memorymoog in stock alone would be special enough but these Lintronics versions are highly coveted. The cost of implementing the LAMM upgrade is near the actual supply cost of the donor machine these days, plus factoring in the waiting time to have it done by Rudi means getting hold of these very special versions can test the patience of any fan. We’ve seen demand for LAMM Memorymoog go through the roof in recent years, what with top music professionals buying them up, and this trend is only ever going to go one way, so this should be viewed as a rare opportunity to own your own and the bragging rights the come with it.

Background:

Our client, the owner of this LAMM, a professional studio owner & producer, and owner of a significant vintage synth collection, purchased it from a contact of theirs on Germany back in 2010. In they own words, they ‘rather selfishly’ kept the Moog in the own private studio for the 11 years of their ownership and had ‘lovingly cherished’ the instrument for all that time.  Our client regularly had Kent Spong at KSR service the LAMM (3 times in 11 years including November 2021). They told us that the Memorymoog had ‘taken me on musical journeys of discovery that only a classic Moog can do..’ which perfectly sums up what its like owning one of these very special instruments.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition is excellent, so we would rate this 9/10. The wood cabinet is original, undamaged and has a beautiful light wood stain that has a natural patina.  The aluminium case and control-surface stickers are all in excellent condition with hardly any signs of ware.  The only item of note is a small ‘roll’ on the top of the right hand side aluminium end-cheek; we’ve included a picture below to show this tiny blemish in an otherwise outstanding condition example of a 40+ year old instrument.

Observations:

In its original guise, this was a standard Memorymoog, and looking at the serial number (#1619) and notes supplied from KSR, this is quite an early manufactured example.  The tone of this Moog seems particularly deep & rich, so from an audiophile perspective, it sounds special.  The Lintronics upgrade adds a lot of functionality and increases stability of the Memorymoog from its factory state, but this example being an early model, does take a little while to warm-up, but you’re patience is rewarded with the most beautify sounding example we recall ever playing.

This Memorymoog LAMM has (in the past) been modified to operate on UK/EU 220~240V. As you may know, Memorymoog never came with a simple user-switchable power supply, but the rear of this machine does indicate it was originally a 110V. KSR have printed a small sticker under the IEC socket to indicate the synth is set to 240V status. A UK 3-pin style IEC mains cable will be supplied with the instrument upon sale.

Remarks: 

It must be true that time travel is possible because we have a vintage Pro-one sat here that looks like i’s just come from the Sequential Circuits production line in 

The Pro-One is a superb mono-synth, utilising the fabled Curtis CEM chip technology, like its bigger brother, the Prophet 5. A really great sounding vintage analogue synth and very flexible modulation routing capability and wonderful built-in arpeggio & 40 note sequencer. 

This Pro-One has come to us from our UK client who has owned it since new, having bought it in the early 1980s, so only one owner!  It comes with its original retail packaging and has a pristine copy of the owners manual.  The condition of the Pro-One can only be described as mint.  It’s immaculate, unmarked.

What can we add to the huge body of praise that you can find online for this super little mono-synths, it’s got heart, full of character, punchy, versatile…perfect.

To answer the obligatory question on these models, yes, this is (J-Wire) version, most were.  KSR has just fully serviced the synth, which included a new set of neoprene keyboard bushes, full calibration, re-cap of PSU, deep-clean of all pots, switches etc.  The synth was clean and in top condition, but age still plays its part in needing to maintain these instruments, so most of the servicing was minimal to ensure furniture continuity.  The wood end-cheeks were pristine, so di not need any treatment.

Remarks: This Jupiter 8 forms part of a larger collection of vintage synths that we are brokering for our client. This Synthacon has been in our client’s collection for several years.

Roland Jupiter 8 (14bit model) – Serial Number: 212296, has been retrofitted with a MIDI kit.

We are always very happy to sell any Jupiter 8 and this one is a good representative example that has MIDI as well. What can we say that hasn’t already been written about the JP8…honestly, nothing new.  However, we’ve seen relative values for this flagship vintage analogy poly-synth climb sharply in recent years, so they’ve become unaffordable to most people, which is a real shame.

The overall condition is very good, with only the normal amount of wear we would expect to see on a synth this age, although there is a blemish that you can see on the back-plane, on the right-hand side, which we have included a picture of to show, for full disclosure.  

We discussed the price at some length with our client and agreed to keep the sale price as reasonable as is possible for this model, so we think you will find this cheaper by far than any currently available for sale in the world right now, in comparable condition, fully serviced and sold with a guarantee. 

This JP8 operates on EU/UK 220V.  We will also supply a PDF copy of the owners manual.

As the instrument is being Brokered through RL Music, it will be sold with a full 3-month warranty and we can ship worldwide.  

Note on Demos, and because…Covid:  The JP8 is currently based in Surrey (UK) with our tech, Kent at KSR.  Although there are strict Covid-19 restrictions in place throughout the UK at present, Kent has very kindly offered for anyone who would like to see and demo the synth before buying it, to demo it at his premises.  Kent is able to set up the synth in a place that meets distancing rules, that’s safe for him and the customer, so if you want to check the synth out then that option is open to you. 

Alternately (recommended), Kent can produce short video demo’s to show the working condition of the JP8, but this is by request only.  If we get a single request to do this then we will, of course, upload that to the KSR YouTube channel and probably just post it here in the listing, but Kent’s a very busy guy (good techs always are) so he’s not had the time to proactively do this for us and/or this Jupiter 8.

Remarks: We are brokering this excellent condition example for a UK client who has owned it for 20+ years.

This wonderful 6 voice system came from a time when Roland made such cool looking synths and had a warm and timeless vintage sound to them. The Juno 6 was many peoples first polysynth and we have had many tell us that they sold theirs years ago and regretted it – well, you can have one again…and a really beautiful example as well.

Although lacking MIDI, this synth has a nostalgic appeal and is perfectly useable to make music today but you have to use your hands and not a remote computer to play it. The digitally controlled/generated oscillator keeps the system in perfect tune, and this model has the exact same sound and programming capability of the Juno 60 but without the extra price.

As you can see from the pictures below, the cosmetic condition of the panels and faux wood is excellent. The only item of note is a small ‘etched’ number into the paint on the back-plane, next to the output section, which was presumably for an asset ID for some previous owner.

This Juno 6 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty and can be shipped worldwide. The synth operates on EU 220V (UK plug fitted).

Remarks: This is fast becoming the most popular (and affordable) vintage analogue polysynth in the world.

The design of the Juno 60 has to be one of the best Roland ever produced in terms of simplicity of sound design and warmth of character. The Juno 60 has been a ‘go-to’ synth for working musicians wanting that vintage sound for quite a while now. It kind of defies logic that a DCO synth could deliver such a lush and musical tone, and it’s won the hearts and minds of all synthesists who’d had the opportunity to own or play one.

This factory standard Juno 60 has been in the ownership of our client for over 25 years and was only ever used at his home during his ownership, and although showing signs of its age cosmetically, it works perfectly and needed little in the way of any operational attention.

We have taken a number of photos that highlight the cosmetic blemishes on this Juno 60, so you will see it is in good around condition, but far from perfect, so the sales price has been agreed with our client to reflect this. Remarks: Time capsule Alert! We were delivered the Juno 60 from our client today and can really only describe this machine as in factory new condition. Our Client stepped out of his time machine and handed it to us….well, it has certainly felt like that looking at the condition of this Juno 60.

This completely original and unmodified Juno 60 was purchased new by our client in 1983 from a well-known music store on in the South of England (Eddie Moors’ Music) and has been kept at the owners home since. It has been used regularly throughout its life and the operational condition was perfect when we tested it this morning. This is a really rare find and the Juno 60 even comes with all its original documents and program data cassette! A very much loved and cared for instrument and the cosmetic condition reflects this perfectly as it’s immaculate.

The Juno 60 is the same synth as the Juno 6 but the 60 has programmable memories and MIDI Capability. As with its sibling, the sound engine is the same beautifully warm vintage Roland sound, but having the memories on the 60 makes it more of a ‘go-to’ synth for working musicians wanting that vintage sound.

This factory standard Juno 60 is in ‘collector grade’ condition 9.9 out of 10.

Remarks: RL Music is delighted to present you this great condition Pro-One from the classic Sequential Circuits family.

The Pro-One is a superb mono-synth, utilising Curtis CEM chip technology like her bigger brother, the Prophet 5. A really great sounding vintage analogue synth and very flexible modulation routing capability and wonderful built-in arpeggio & 40 note sequencer.

This Pro-One has come to us from a UK customer who has owned it since the 1980s, but in recent years it had become unused, so they decided to let it go to someone else who can enjoy using it again.

The synth is in really good original condition, but this is not a collectors machine as it does show some cosmetic blemishes around the mod-wheels and another under the LFO section. We understand that there was some sticky tape left there some years ago and the residue has left some marks the case. We felt this minor cosmetic flaw needs highlighting to any potential new buyer, but the sales price has been agreed with our client to reflect this.

This is an early model (J-Wire), with the PSU mounted to the PCB. KSR has just fully serviced the synth, which included a new set of neoprene keyboard bushes, full calibration, re-cap of PSU, deep-clean of all pots, switches, a full overhaul of the key-bed and also restored the wood end-cheeks (stained & waxed).

As you can see from the pictures, this Pro-One is looking great and is 100% perfectly working – sold with our normal 3-month warranty.
