Came into stock: Oct 2015

Servicing Status: Fully pro-restored and ready for sale.

Remarks: We are offering this highly restored & exquisite condition Roland Jupiter 8 for sale – this comes from the private ‘RL Music Collection.’

We often need to subject these models to extensive operational and cosmetic restoration to bring them up to the highest possible standard, however, this actual JP8 had already gone through this process in late 2015. We purchased & restored this JP8 for our own private collection, but have some new projects to invest into (big vintage Modulars), so are look to raise some funds through the sale of this immaculate example.

We call this ‘Total Restoration’ and the work produces an almost factory new-looking machine as all the metal the panels have been stripped and re-sprayed & screen-printed, and the aluminum end-cheeks re-anodised. All the electronics have been completely overhauled, key-bed refurbished and even a brand new new perspex display etc. This is the highest level restoration we can offer for these wonderful vintage synthesizers. Servicing Status: Full service by KSR will commence post-sale.

Remarks: We’re delighted to be able to offer what we consider to be one of the finest analogue polysynths ever produced – the Roland Jupiter 8.

As many of you will know, we often need to subject these models to extensive operational and cosmetic restoration (costing over £2800 GBP) to bring them up to the highest possible standard, however, this actual JP8 had already gone through this process in 2009.

We call this ‘Total Restoration’ and the work produces an almost factory new-looking machine as all the metal the panels have been stripped and re-sprayed & screen-printed, and the aluminum end-cheeks re-anodised. You will not find any other business around the world offering anything close this level of restoration.

This Jupiter 8 has resided since it’s Total Restoration in the owners home, and has been kept covered when not used, so has been lovingly cared for. This is a very reluctant sale by the owner but they need to raise cash for a home purchase, otherwise it would have never come up for sale.

Rhodes Chroma CC+

Restoration Status: This Rhodes Chroma CC+ is nearing completion from restoration at KSR, and should be completed in September 2014.

It could be said that the Rhodes Chroma is an instrument that sits very much ‘on the fence’ of Analogue and Digital tech. The designers of this system in many ways had moments of genius, whilst at other times suffered with complete madness, but somehow the magic came right to offer a truly superb sounding vintage synth.

The key to restoring one of these fabulous instruments is finding a good quality example in the first place, and that’s a real challenge these days. This superb example was brought in from our music-pro customer in France – we are subjecting it to an extensive restorative overhaul, both cosmetically and operationally. KSR, our synth restorers, also fitted a brand new 5 volt PSU to the system thus providing rock solid stability for the CPU and other critical functions of the Chroma system etc.

We have also purchased and (KSR) fitted the amazing CC+ CPU upgrade thus bringing these vintage systems right up to date. This upgrade is not cheap but offers a very high quality upgrade path securing the synths place in a modern studio environment, plus the obvious future resale value being increased significantly.

Please click here to find out all about the CC+ CPU Upgrade

The Chroma is a very well loved and supported vintage model within the synth community. Chris Ryan has an excellent website dedicated to the model which has been a, excellent source of knowledge and support generally: rhodeschroma.com

This Rhodes Chroma is sold with a 3 month warranty and has been converted to operate on EU 220V.

Price: £5690 UK Pounds

Availability: This Rhodes Chroma CC+ is SOLD as at 12th September 2014.

Prophet 600 w/Teensy

We are delighted to offer this immaculate, pro-restored Prophet 600 for sale.

The Prophet 600 was the first commercially available synth to have MIDI as standard from the factory and this later version has 100 patch-memory. The sound is reminiscent of the Prophet 5, being Curtis Chipset based, but features 2 on-board sequencers and an arpeggiator which is really useful & something the P5 lacked.

In recent times there have been some truly excellent upgrade options coming to the market for the P600 and one that we really like is the GliGli-Teensy++. We have supplied and installed the Teensy++ into this P600 and the transformation has to be heard to be believed….it’s simply incredible. In our opinion, this P600 will now easily (sonically) match the Prophet 5, and the filter/resonance is so powerful that it’s now punching in a different synth league altogether.

For more information on what the Teensy++ upgrade now delivers through improved functionality, and enhanced sonic capability (getting a LOT more out of the Curtis Chipset) the please click the link to read the user manual (and install guide) here: http://sfx.gligli.free.fr/zik/p600/Prophet600FirmwareUpgrade_en_beta_1_0.pdf

The P600 is a really excellent way to dial into that classic Prophet sound but much more affordable than it’s bigger brothers (P5,P10 & T8 etc). It has that wonderful vintage analogue warmth and can can kick out some powerful/edgy leads and effects…a great all-rounder but with character & vintage appeal.

A good demo here by Thomas Faurby of purely the P600, and although this is a stock sounding synth, still very nice indeed: YouTube Preview Image

Our P600 has only just been fully professionally restored by KSR so is in 100% operational condition.

Cosmetically it’s in excellent condition and clearly has never been gigged. The synth was purchased from a UK owner and is a very nice example & plays beautifully. The only item of note is that the original end-cheeks had been replaced with some horrible MDF items in the synths past, so we had ‘Lamond Design’ manufacture some beautiful solid Oak replacements, which KSR hand stained and wax finished and look beautiful.

This example is sold with a full 3 months warranty and runs on US 110V and EU 220V.

Price: £1390 GBP.

Availability: This Prophet 600 is now SOLD as at 26th June 2014.

ROLAND JUNO-6

How about owing this fully pro-restored, guaranteed and genuine Vintage Roland Analogue Polysynth.

This wonderful 6 voice system came from a time when Roland made the best looking synths and had a warm and timeless vintage sound to them. The Juno 6 was many peoples first polysynth and we have had many tell us that they sold theirs years ago and regretted it – well, you can have one again…and a really beautiful example as well.

Although lacking MIDI, this synth has a nostalgic appeal and is perfectly useable to make music today but you have to use your hands and not a remote computer to play it. The digitally controlled/generated oscillator keeps the system in perfect tune, and this model has the exact same sound and programming capability of the Juno 60…without the extra price.

The condition is very good as you can see from the pictures below, and it although shows some signs of age on its paint work in places, but it has just been fully overhauled so rock-solid reliable and a great studio or even live tool.

This example is sold with a full 3 months warranty and runs on UK/EU 220V voltage.

Price: £795 GBP

Availability: This Juno 6 is now SOLD as at 27th June 2014.

Servicing Status: Full service by KSR will commence post-sale.

Remarks: A nice condition of the mid version (Mk2) Elka Synthex – with the factory MIDI option delivered through break-out-MIDI cables (supplied)

This has to be the one of the finest analogue polysynths ever made and was used by all the top artists of the 80′s, especially JMJ.  Built in 4 track sequencer 8 voice polyphonic, twin oscillator 24 dB/octave low pass filter 6 & 12 dB/octave band pass filters 12 dB/octave high pass filter. MOOG MEMORYMOOG

Came into stock: Due late-February 2014

Restoration Status: Full restoration will commence by KSR early March 2014.

ETR (estimated time from restoration): Should be ready by late March or early April 2014.

This example is in superb condition, 100% original and an un-modified standard version, so no MIDI but a prime candidate for the LAMM upgradeor MIDI socket-upgrade from Kenton if so wished.

Memorymoogs have to be in the top 5 list of machines for any serious analogue fan and among the most individual sounding (monster) polysynths ever made. These instruments have become very hard to find in the last 5 years or so in anything like decent condition and demand, as with so many of the truly iconic synths from this period, has increased significantly leaving a big hole in the market for top quality examples.

Our vintage synth restorers, KSR, have considerable experience in restoring Memorymoogs – which is more of an art form than an engineering function, and as such, each synth gets around 20+ hours of meticulous & skilled work invested into them just on the electronic side then the aluminum case is deep cleaned and the wood cabinet hand-finished (stripped, stained and waxed) to reveal the beautiful wood character to it full.

Once fully restored by us these instruments are reliable, stable and everyday usable in a professional/production environment or the home enthusiast studio for many years to come.

Considering the beautiful condition and extreme care taken in the restoration work we are invest into it, we are confident that this Memorymoog will be a huge asset to any musician wanting a truly iconic synth to hold on to for many years. This is a fully working synth (tunes 6 voiced every time), is stable, sounds epic and can be used everyday!

This example is sold with a full 3 months warranty, owners manual (on PDF only) and runs EU 220V voltage. MIDI can be fitted at an additional cost – please enquire for more details.

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our customer

Came into stock: 10th October 2013

Servicing Status: Full service by KSR will commence post-sale.

Remarks: We’re delighted to be able to offer, what we consider is without any doubt, the finest condition Jupiter 6 in the world.

This Jupiter 6 has the Europa upgrade fitted and was purchased from new, in the UK, by the customer we are now selling it for. I has only ever been used in the owners home and lovingly cared for as their prized possession for over 30 years, but they have finally decided to let it go to fund other music projects.

The famed ‘Europa’ firmware upgrade for the Jupiter-6 provides a truly modern MIDI specification where all the synth front-panel parameters are controllable via Continuous Controller (SysEx). This brings the Jupiter 6 beautifully into the 21st Century DAW environment and adds significant ‘owners’ value to the synth.

The Jupiter 6 has been a hugely popular polysynth since its arrival in 1983, and offers aficionados that beautiful vintage polyphonic analogue Roland sound for very reasonable cost, certainly when compared to its sibling, the Jupiter 8. It’s a professional grade vintage instrument that’s only ever going to become more sought after and rare, so here is your opportunity to buy and absolutely stunning example that’s got to be a keeper!

Runs on EU 220V, is supplied with a flight-case, custom made dust cover, original Roland owners manual and Europa manual – all in pristine condition as well.

Roland Juno 60

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our customer

Came into stock: Arrived at RL Music 2nd October 2013

Servicing Status: Full service by KSR will commence post-sale.

Remarks: This model has become the most popular (and affordable) Vintage Analogue Polysynth in the world, well we think it has, and strong demand from our customers would support this belief.

The Juno 60 is the same synth as the Juno 6 but the 60 has programmable memories and MIDI Capability. As with it’s sibling, the sound engine is the same beautifully warm vintage Roland sound, but having the memories on the 60 makes it more of a ‘go-to’ synth for working musicians wanting that vintage sound.

This factory standard Juno 60 has come to us from a long standing RL Music customer who is downsizing his synth collection, which is all in ‘collectors quality’ condition. We know this because we sold this Juno 6o to them late last year! We’re very pleased to be able to offer this immaculate vintage synthesizer as a Brokered deal, and we will be fully servicing it and selling it with a 3 month warranty.

This Juno 60 is without doubt the finest condition example we have ever seen. It also is supplied with its original black Roland, fur-lined, flight case and original owners manual.

Runs on EU 220V.

If you want MIDI to be fitted to this Juno 60 then please enquire as we can supply and install the Minerva MIDI retrofit kit to this synth, although the sales price quoted below does not include this option. The price to supply and install the Minerva MIDI kit would be a further £360 GBP.

As with all Brokered Sales, the synth will be fully serviced post-sale before it’s sent to its new owner. We do this to ensure that the instrument leaves us in perfect operational condition, and it is backed up by our full warranty to give the new owner complete peace of mind. Memorymoog LAMM

The Memorymoog is an outstanding analogue polysynth that is unique and unrivalled in sheer power and character. Moog did the best they could with the technology of the day, but Lintronics developed this amazing system further to become the world renown Lintronics Advanced Memorymoog (LAMM).

More info on the Lintronics LAMM implementation can be found by clicking this link: http://www.lintronics.de/lamm.html

Not very often we get the chance to get hold of a LAMM but we managed to source this amazing vintage synth from a musician who has gone 100% VSTi…! Well, our gain for sure, and having a Memorymoog in stock alone would be treat enough but the Lintronics versions are highly coveted. The LAMM upgrade charges are near the cost of the donor machine these days, plus the waiting time to have it done, so here’s a great opportunity to get yours. The LAMM upgrade on this particular model was carried out by Bob Moog’s team (Big Briar) in the USA during the 1990s – we have documented evidence of this.

This LAMM is also a very special as it has gone through our unique ‘Total Restoration’ process that has involved every possible aspect of the synths cosmetic and operational integrity, and taken over 6 months to complete. We have had all the control surfaces re-finished, new scratch-resistance stickers made and a brand new Walnut cabinet made for it by Lamond Design. We are certain that you will never find a more perfect and beautifully prepared Memorymoog in the world. The restoration costs invested into this LAMM have been in excess of £3000 GBP alone, and this does not include the LAMM upgrade costs, which are considerably more than that figure, on top.

So, if you are after a cosmetically perfect, full LAMM spec Memorymoog that is operationally restored to the highest possible level achievable, is totally reliable and feels beautiful to play then we present the worlds finest example for sale.

Supplied with original LAMM User manual. Runs EU 220V and sold with a 6 month warranty.

Guide Price: £10300 UK Pounds

Availability: This ultra-high level restored LAMM Memorymoog is now SOLD as at 28th September 2013.

Roland System 100M

This item is currently being restored

Came into stock: 1st August 2013

Restoration Status: Restoration underway by KSR now.

ETR (estimated time from restoration): September 2013

Remarks: Vintage analogue modular systems always have something special to offer, be it the sound, the heritage, the wonderful design, or perhaps in this case all three in fact.

The Roland 100M is a stunning and totally uniquely fashioned modular system manufactured around the late 1970s. The 100M is consistently considered a top-tier must-have vintage modular synthesizer by a huge number of fans, so the passage of synthy-time has clearly been kind enough that it should tell you something about this beautiful instrument.

We recently purchased this impressive vintage analogue modular system from a UK collector. The overall condition is excellent cosmetically and everything worked as it should, although we are having the entire system fully restored as standard practice for and vintage modular systems we sell.

We don’t think we need to tell you about how good this system is as you will no doubt all ready know, so here we shall just focus on the facts of what we have available for you:

System Configuration:

4 x M-191J five-module rack with multiple connectors
3 X 110 VCO / VCF / VCA
3 X 112 Dual VCO
2 x 121 Dual VCF
2 X 130 Dual VCA
4 X 140 Dual EG / LFO
2 X 150 LFO / SH / Ring / Noise
1 X 182 Sequencer
1 X 132 Dual Mixer / Voltage Processor
1 X 172 Phase / Delay
1 X 131 4 Channel Mixer
1 X 184 4 Note CV Polyphonic Keyboard

The 184 Keyboard controller offers true polyphonic CV/Gate control of this impressive system and has: 49-notes (C-C) 4-voice, with switchable mono/polyphonic, an arpeggiator, and polyphonic portamento. With the number of VCO/VCF/VCA/EG modules included in this modular there is easy scope to run the instrument polyphonically, or configure it in such a way that you could produce some seriously complex sounds, all triggered simultaneously.

Ask yourself that question – when is a modular system big enough?

So you can have an aspiration to own something the size of Hans Zimmer’s 100M, but the reality is you also need to sleep and eat, and actually get work done (deadlines?). There is an ‘optimal’ configuration that covers all the bread & butter work and then there should be some more exotic facilities. We honestly think this 4 cab + controller system as such is an optimal system. This would (arguably) offer more than enough facility and power to satisfy even the most demanding professional.

Our friends at KSR are subjecting this 100M to an extensive restoration with everything being addressed, from cleaning sockets, sliders, switches etc to the full electronic restoration: calibration and testing etc. The 184 Keyboard will be stripped and deep cleaned and the action restored to as-new condition. The restoration will ensure many years of reliable service and the system will be sold with a 6 month warranty.

KSR are converting the whole system to operate on EU 220V. The modular will be supplied with an assortment of patching cables which were supplied with the system.

Please note: We will not be splitting this system, so it’s sold as-is.

Guide Price Post-Restoration: Guide price £11500 GBP.

Availability: This Roland System 100M is now SOLD as at 3rd February 2014.

Picture of actual system being restored now, but many more high-res images will be available post-restoration.
