Oberheim Xpander

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Coming into stock: Came into stock in May 2024.

Servicing Status: KSR have carried out a service on this Xpander in May 2024.

Remarks: Much has been written on these incredible synthesizers and it’s understandable when you use them as they really can deliver a thick analogue wall of sound, and are perfect pad and brass sources just for starters.

The Xpander lineage includes the Matrix 6 and 12 and is a fully midi configured, 6 voice Polysynth – an excellent addition to any analogue set-up and has to be heard to be believed. he Xpander offers a deep programmable architecture for those of you into tweaking but can also be a very user-friendly hands-on preset machine.  This means they sit between that digital and analogue medium perfectly and are arguably the best of the hybrid technology of the early to mid-1980s.

About This Xpander:

This example is a USA built unit that works perfectly, and as mentioned above, has just been fully serviced by KSR.  The cosmetic condition is all original and absolutely first class, excellent, as you can see from the pictures below, with barely any perceptible marks or signs of use, which is quite remarkable for a 40+ year old music instrument.

The owner purchased a Star Dust cover for it a few years ago and it is supplied with the synth on-sale.  The cover is well used and has done a fantastic job protecting the instrument.

We are Brokering this Xpander for a private owner whom imported from the USA in 2016. It has only ever been used in a home studio environment since.

The Xpander runs on US115~230V (switchable), is supplied with an IEC cable with UK-plug fitted and photocopy of the June 1984 user manual by Daniel Soferan. In addition, an original factory presets cassette is also supplied.

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship this Xpander worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so they are subject to quotation.  The synth is located with us in Reading, so you are welcome to collect it from us if you prefer.

There may be short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements, so please email us if you have any questions about the logistics and/or need a quote.

Roland Jupiter 6 Eur...

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Coming into stock: February 2024.

Servicing Status: Serviced Feb 2024.

Remarks: This Jupiter 6 (serial # 333020) was purchased by our client some years ago and is only ever used in the home.  The cosmetic condition is excellent, and the whole synth only shows light indications of use with some marks to the panels, which we hope the photos provided will show, but this is a high-quality 40 years old vintage instrument.

The Jupiter 6 has been a hugely popular polysynth since it arrived in 1983. It offers aficionados that beautiful vintage polyphonic analogue Roland sound for a very reasonable cost compared to its sibling, the Jupiter 8.  Prices for these models in recent years have seen a significant uplift as vintage polysynths are getting rarer and rarer to find in good condition.

Our client, the owner of the synth, purchased it in 2005 from a UK seller, and this being a 240V machine would suggest it’s always been in the UK, so not an import. The JP6 has never been gigged, and the cosmetic condition stands as a testament to it being exceptionally well cared for throughout its 40 years since manufacture.

This JP6 has the hugely popular Europa Modification implemented, which expands the capability of this already superb vintage polysynth; we also have printed copies of the Europa User manuals, which we will supply upon sale to the new owner. Additionally, the original aluminium end-cheeks have been overlayed with retro-style hardwood wood pieces, which are in excellent shape.  This ‘bolt-on’ cosmetic mod can be removed if unwanted, but it’s something we have seen on a few JP6, and it either adds or subtracts to the synth, which depends on your viewpoint.

The Jupiter 6 is a professional-grade vintage instrument that’s only ever going to become more sought after and rarer, so here is your opportunity to buy a beautiful condition example, fresh from the hands of a master synth-tech (Kent Spong) and fully guaranteed by RL Music.

This Jupiter 6 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty and operates on EU 220V~240V, and is supplied with an IEC power cable (UK 3-pin type) and the flight case pictured.

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship this JP6 worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so they are subject to quotation.  The synth s located with us in Reading, so you are welcome to collect if from us if you prefer.

There may be short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements, so please email us if you have any questions about the logistics and/or need a quote.

Juno 60 + JSQ-60

We are Brokering these instruments for and on behalf of our UK customer

Servicing Status: KSR has already carried out a full service on this in July 2023.

Remarks: This Roland Juno 60, JSQ-60 and Boss KM-60 were purchased by our client brand new (from our Client’s memory) around 1983 from a music shop based in Chelmsford, and all three items have only ever been used in the home.  The cosmetic condition is outstanding for all three machines, pristine and almost (if not) as-new condition. These are usable vintage instruments, so they have intrinsic value as such but the condition of this collection more than qualifies as something a collector would cherish.

We are going to try and sell this collection as a bundle for two reasons;

Firstly as they were all bought together and have been used together for 40 years, so it would be ideal to not split them up if possible.

Secondly, as these actually all make excellent partners in terms of operating and mixing, especially with that stunning condition analogue keyboard mixer, the KM-60

The summary prices below offer a bundle price or the option to buy separately.

The Juno 60

The design of the Juno 60 has to be one of the best Roland ever produced in terms of simplicity of sound design and warmth of character. The Juno 60 has been a ‘go-to’ synth for working musicians wanting that vintage sound for quite a while now.  It kind of defies logic that a DCO synth could deliver such a lush and musical tone, and it won the hearts and minds of all synthesists who’d had the opportunity to own or play one.

This is, we feel, the cleanest all original example we have had through our business, with the buttons and keys so clean and white, it’s like looking at a brand new machine. Included in the sale is the original Roland Patch Program Data Cassette and owner’s manual.

This synth sounds and operates like all Juno 60 should, and KSR has fully serviced the synth, so it’s 100% working perfectly and good to go.  Aside from the DCB Port, there is no modern MIDI retrofit to this example, but as it’s in such beautiful original condition it would be such a shame to drill holes into the pristine metal panel.  Kenton still produces a Pro-DCB MIDI converter, so we would recommend going this route to maintain the originality for MIDI functionality, but if you must have a more sophisticated MIDI access then please call and speak to us about what options are available and costs etc.

The price has been agreed with our client to reflect the outstanding condition as we both recognise this to be a vastly superior quality example to what most people are trying to sell online around the world.

The Juno JSQ-60

This was Roland’s solution to a dedicated polyphonic sequencer for the Juno 60, which connects via the proprietary DCB port on the synth from a Roland sequencer. A useful 2000-step unit that’s simple to use and an effective partner for its time.

As you can see from the photos, the unit comes still contained within its original EO retail packaging. The cosmetic condition is excellent with only tiny areas showing any imperfections, and we have provided some photos below that show all angles of the sequencer so you can get a feel for it’s overall quality.

KSR has fully serviced the synth, so it’s 100% working perfectly and good to go, and we have purchased a brand new 9V DC 1A external power supply (UK model) for this, which is included in the price.

The Boss KM-60 6-Channel Analogue Mixer

A very well-known and sought-after analogue mixer that Boss produced in the late 1970s. It’s a stereo 6-channel machine that offers onboard EQ, effects send and panning,  some lovely VU-meters and a beautiful aesthetic that fits perfectly with the Juno-60 and JSQ-60.  There’s a lot of love for this little mixer, we used to own one back in the day so know it well and have fond memories of our ownership. Certainly, you can buy a lot more ‘mixer’ these days, but period-correct equipment has a unique appeal and the KM-60, especially in this condition, is very much collectable and only set to become more desirable as the years go by.

As you can see from the pictures, it’s is fantastic cosmetic condition with only the smallest evidence that tells you this mixer is over 40 years old.

KSR have fully serviced the mixer, cleaned all the potentiometers and jack-sockets and re-capped the PSU, so it’s 100% working perfectly.  We all know that mixers impart a lot of character to the tone of the instruments used through them, and the KM-60 was produced with the Roland product set being sold at that time in mind, so the Juno-60 is the perfect partner for it. Its a trackable mixer but this example has never been used that was so is completely unblemished…stunning.

In Summary:

The Juno 60, JSQ-60 and KM-60 are all sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty and operate on EU/UK 220v~240v.

Our client, the owner, also provided original printed copies of the Juno-60 Owners Manual and the JSQ-60 Owners Manual, although the latter shows some historic water damage to the paper.

The Juno-60 and KM-60 use a hard-wired flex that terminates to a UK-style 3-pin plug. They are able to operate within the EU without any external power-regulation transformers, although your own country-type plug would need to be fitted. The JSQ-60 operated from a brand new 9V DC 1A external power supply (UK plug-type version).

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship Juno 60, JSQ-60 and KM-60 worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom-ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements, so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.

Price:

Bundle Price for all two items is  = £3,990 GBP.

Individual Sales Price:

Roland Juno-60 = £3700

Roland JSQ-60 = £700

Availability: Juno 60 and JSQ-60 are available for sale now. The  KM-60 is now SOLD.

Yamaha CS-70M

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Servicing Status: KSR have carried out a full service this CS-70M in July 2023.

Remarks:

This was one of those ‘time capsule’ moments when then owner of the CS-70M turns up with the instrument contained in its original retail packaging, and reveals the best condition example I have every seen in 22 years as a specialist vintage synth dealer. This CS-70M was purchased new by my Client on 25th February 1983. We have an image of the original sales invoice from 1983 (kept confidential but will be supplied to the new owner), along with all the original documentation, so Owners Manual, Service Manual and the colour printed Yamaha Sales Brochure for the CS070M (all pictured below).

The CS-70M has for many people been overlooked, overshadowed by its bigger brother – the CS80, but this instrument has ascended in popularity among aficionados, and we know this synth is highly sought after by those who truly appreciate it.

6 Voice, dual-channel (stereo), aftertouch, 30 memories, ring-mod, chorus & Leslie effects, lowpass, high-pass, and bandpass VCF, fully programmable and with a 4 channel polyphonic sequencer etc.

Those in the know will already tell you that this is one of the finest hybrid analogue polysynths ever made and a work of audio art in its own right.  It shares most of the same technology as the CS80 and many of the characteristics and tonal qualities as well. The big ‘plus’ over the CS-80 is the digital auto-tune facility that snaps the voice cards into tune upon powering up the synth.  These models do not suffer from any wayward tuning issues, so this was a step-change for Yamaha when this hybrid polysynth hit the market, of that over the CS-80 and its pure analogue foibles at least.

There are a few demos on YouTube of these but we like this rather ambient-noodling one from the Channel of MoreAnalog as it demonstrates nicely how the CS70M has that beautiful ambient CS80 vibe we love about this synth:

https://youtu.be/1_jy9ERBTPs

Background:

As mentioned above, this is a remarkable single owner example that perfectly meets all the criteria to be a fine collectors item, as well as a usable music instrument. This is a completely factory stock survivor machine, so has not been retrofitted with MIDI, so no holes have been  drilled into its pristine case, so this lacks MIDI, but once you buy it then you can decide if that’s important to you to have implemented of if you prefer to retain its originality and collectable value by keeping it original.

The serial number for this CS-70M is: 1654

Condition:

The cosmetic condition of this example is exemplary with no perceivable ageing to the control surfaces. The faux wood laminate cabinet is in outstanding condition, unmarked, We would grade this as in Excellent condition – 10 out of 10 cosmetically…really.

All the original controls, slider-caps, knobs are intact and everything still looks sharp and clean.  We have all the original manuals and other documentation as mentioned above. There is even the small rubber cover for the Keycode port on the rear-panel still in place.

Operational Condition:

Operationally, our trusted and world-renowned ‘Yamaha CS Series’ restoration expert – Kent Spong of KSR, has already carried out a full service on the CS70M, so it’s 100% perfectly working and ready for its new owner now.  Servicing included re-capping the PSU, full system-wide test and calibrations and cleaning of sliders and pots where needed as the synth has been sat unused for some time so it did need some light attention, but we wanted a very light touch with this instrument.

The only item that we need to report that is non-functional is the magnetic strip reader as there is a custom Yamaha IC that has failed on the reader and that part is no longer available. This is a very common problem on the CS-70M and we don’t currently have any workaround for this, so we are declaring it here so you have full knowledge when considering to to purchase the instrument.

The CS-70M operates from 100V to 240V as there is a switchable PSU switch(s) on the back panel, and this Yamaha is supplied with its original & proprietary 2-pin power cable. The unit has been fully tested under UK 240V conditions at the KSR workshop.

Packing, Shipping, Insurance and Warranty:

We can ship this CS-70M worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  As this is supplied in its original retail box, then we would have to order a custom sized export-grade cardboard carton that encompasses the OE box as well, so it will be a large and heavy.

There may be some short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote, but you are also welcome to collect it from us in person in Reading, UK.

As the instrument is being Brokered through RL Music, it will be sold with a full 3-month (return-to-dealer) warranty, covering all parts and labour.

Sales Price:

£10,990 GBP

VAT is not applicable to UK buyers, however, the packing & shipping costs are subject to VAT @ 20%, should you need the goods shipped to you.

Roland Jupiter 8 w/M...

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Coming into stock: Came into stock in February 2022.

Servicing Status: KSR have carried out a service on this Jupiter 8 in February 2023.

Remarks: A beautiful condition Roland Jupiter 8 (12bit model) – Serial Number: 161512, which has been retrofitted with a Groove MIDI kit.

We are always very happy to sell any Jupiter 8 and this one is an excellent representative example that has MIDI as well. What can we say that hasn’t already been written about the JP8…honestly, nothing new.  However, we’ve seen relative values for this flagship vintage analogy poly-synth climb sharply in recent years, so they’ve become unaffordable to most people, which is a real shame.

The overall condition is excellent, with far less than he normal amount of wear we would expect to see on a synth this age, so this example has been very well cared for throughout its existence. The photos below tell the story, but even the base of this JP8 is in great shape.

We discussed the price at some length with our client and agreed keep the sale price as reasonable as is possible for this model, so we think you will find this cheaper by far than any currently available JP8 for sale in the world right now, in comparable condition, with MIDI, fully serviced and sold with a guarantee.

Our client purchased a Stardust (pictured) cover for the synth to keep it well protected, so this is supplied in the sale.

This JP8 operates on EU220~UK 220V and has a UK type 3-Pin plug fitted.  We will also supply  a PDF copy of the owners manual.

As the instrument is being Brokered through RL Music, it will be sold with a full 3-month warranty and we can ship worldwide.

Roland MKS-80

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Coming into stock: Came into stock in February 2022.

Servicing Status: KSR have carried out a service on this MKS-80 in February 2023.

Remarks: The classic rack polysynth combo is considered by many enthusiasts to be one of the best sounding vintage analogue rack-synths ever.

The MKS-80 Super Jupiter is powerful velocity and pressure sensitive 8 voice/16 VCO analogue polysynth with that big vintage Roland sound, and a stack of modulation and editing facilities.  The accompanying MPG80 controller is an essential piece of kit if you want to really dig down into the programming and open up the synth’s capabilities, and is a joy to use.

This unit (Serial #633634) is the much sought after Rev.5 version of the MKS-80 (see PCB picture below) featuring the Roland IR3R03 VCO and VCF/VCA IR3R05 chipset, amongst other architectural differences to the earlier versions.  Many say the Rev.5 comes closest to sounding like the Jupiter 8, but we’ll leave that debate to the internet to continue.

The cosmetic condition of this MKS-80 is outstanding, with only very light markings in evidence that this rack-synth has been very well looked after by our Client, whom has owned this instrument around 22 years, and only ever used in his home.

The MKS-80 work perfectly and contains many of their original patches, and they’re simple to set up in your studio and get to work with straight out of the box.

This example is a EU220V~UK240V machine, and is supplied with a photo-copy of the user manual and an IEC cable with UK-plug fitted.

Packing & Shipping:

Yamaha CS-80

We are Brokering this CS-80 for and on behalf of our UK client.

Came into stock: Came into stock in July 2022.

Service Status:  Full service by Mr CS80 himself, Kent Spong of KSR , was carried out in July 2022.

Remarks:

A rare opportunity to buy the instrument that Vangelis made his own and is largely recognised as the finest analogue polysynth ever produced, the Yamaha CS-80.

Background:

This CS80 we are offering for sale comes to us for Brokering from a private owner who had sent the instrument to KSR directly for a full service to ensure it’s fully operational and ready for us to sell for them.  The serial number (#1107) tells us this is an earlier production version, so will date back to around 1978.

Kent at KSR told us that he had this actual CS-80 in for a full operational refurbishment several years ago, so it’s had all the critical updates done for stability and longevity.  The service that’s just been carried out has mainly focussed on calibrations and a replacement Key-Assigner IC.  We fully tested the CS-80 at the KSR workshop on 11th August and can attest to it being 100% perfectly working – it’s got a lovely tone, with it being an earlier production model.

Most CS-80 have lost their ‘pedals, music stand and legs’ over the years, so we cannot supply these original accessories to the new owner, and like so many, this example for sale does not have most of these either, although it is supplied with a Yamaha branded sustain pedal (pictured).  This CS-80 does not have its original lid either. It will come supplies with an original Yamaha CS-80 service manual, which is actually a folder full of original schematics.  Lastly, the current owner has included an historic bill of sale that’s survived with this instrument dated from 1988, which rather amusingly priced the CS-80 at £325, so a nice piece of provenance at least.

If MIDI is required on the CS-80, then we can normally supply and install the Kenton Midi retrofit Kits for an additional charge, so please ask us for a quote to supply and install this for you. Please note that any modifications like fitting MIDI are only carried out after the synth has been purchased in full.

This CS-80 operates on EU220V but can be converted to US110V if required by Kent at KSR (subject to quotation).

Condition:

The overall cosmetic condition of this CS-80 is good, but it does show signs of wear to the control surfaces and tolex, as we would expect from a 44-year-old instrument, and we hope the pictures we have provided with this listing give you a good feel for how it presents.  Most importantly, it’s working perfectly, so it would serve as a superb studio machine, and because of the world-renowned skills of Kent at KSR with this model, he’s able to ‘dial in’ the tuning of the VCO to work optimally for this specific machine.  This CS-80 has not had any modifications done to it, so it’s a completely original example.

With Kent’s agreement, we took a picture of him with the CS-80.  As many of you will know, Kent Spong is recognised worldwide as one of the top CS-80 specialist technicians, so you could not have a more qualified person to set up this synth and support it.  Just Google ‘Kent Spong and CS-80’, and you will see that his reputation is well deserved where the CS-80 is concerned, and of course, just about any make and model of vintage synth.

Warranty provided on this CS80:

The CS80 is sold with a 3-month warranty as standard, which covers all parts and labour and telephone/Skype technical support from KSR.  The CS-80 currently resides at the KSR workshop, where it is available for demo (upon request).

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship this instrument worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  Having shipped many CS-80 all over the world, we would recommend having it custom crated and palletised for shipping, which we can organise through our specialist suppliers. We are happy to discuss your requirements, so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.

Sales Price: £45,000 GBP

As this is a brokered sale, VAT is not applicable on the sale to UK buyers. However, packing & shipping/insurance is subject to VAT @ 20% should you need the goods shipped to you.

Moog Prodigy

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK client.

Came into stock: Came into stock in July 2022.

Service Status:

A full health check by KSR was carried out in July 2022. A detailed service will be carried out once the unit is sold, adding around 14 days to the post-sale completion.

Remarks:

A lot of Moogyness in a small package; the Prodigy punches well above its weight in terms of what an analogue synth can and should sound like, and we love them!

This example is a late EU version with the full complement of CV/Gate I/O on the rear panel – Model 3368X.

Background:

This late-model example was purchased brand new on 9th January 1982 (we have the sales receipt!) by our client and has been kept at his home all this time, so a single owner only – that’s rare in itself!  It’s been packed away unused for a few years, so Kent at KSR did carry out a full health check in July, and he passed it as perfect, but it will be subject to a full post-sale service to cover things like recapping the power supply.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition of the control surfaces and keys is excellent, with just some small signs of wear to the lacquer on the wood cabinet.  You can see from the pictures that this Prodigy is fully 100% intact, has all its original knobs & slider caps, and the felt under the knobs is all in excellent condition.   Our client did implement a small modification to VCO2, which you can see in one of the images below. This minor modification provides voltage control of Oscillator 2 by the Modulation Wheel (and hence LFO) and/or the Envelope Contour (the one dedicated to the filter rather than the VCA). As such, the modification is primarily for use when Oscillator Sync engages and provides some really unique sounds.

Roland Jupiter 6

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Coming into stock: Came into stock in July 2022.

Servicing Status: KSR has already performed a full service on this JP6 in July 2022.

Remarks: This Jupiter 6 was purchased by our client some years ago and is only ever used in the home.  The cosmetic condition is excellent, and the whole synth only shows very light indications of use & ware – this is remarkable for a keyboard nearly 40 years old!

The Jupiter 6 has been a hugely popular polysynth since its arrival in 1983 and offers aficionados that beautiful vintage polyphonic analogue Roland sound for a very reasonable cost, certainly when compared to its sibling, the Jupiter 8.  Prices for these models in recent years have seen a significant uplift as vintage polysynths are getting rarer and rarer to find in good condition, let alone the condition of this example we have available.

This JP6 has not had any modifications to its factory spec, which our client said was an early production version (sn #343786).  This is often important for buyers who prefer to either leave them as stock or upgrade them according to their own needs & budget, depending on what retrofit solutions may be available in the marketplace.

The Jupiter 6 is a professional-grade vintage instrument that’s only ever going to become more sought after and rarer, so here is your opportunity to buy a beautiful condition example, fresh from the hands of a master synth restorer (Kent Spong), and fully guaranteed by RL Music.

This Jupiter 6 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty and operates on EU 220V. The is supplied with an IEC power cable (UK 3-pin type).

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship this JP6 worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements, so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.

Andromeda A6

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK customer

Coming into stock: Came into stock on July 2022.

Servicing Status: KSR have already carried out a full service on this A6 in July 2022;

Remarks: This more modern analogue synth, although over two decades old now (vintage yet?), has some serious curb appeal and could never be accused of lacking facility or punch.

The A6 is an inspired design by Alesis, but with production ceasing some years ago, the synth achieved cult status amongst synthesists, so another great synth for the halls of fame and used by too many artists to list.

The current owner has owned the A6 for only a few short years and only ever used it at home (smoke & pet free etc.), so the cosmetic and operational condition of the A6 is pristine. We sold this A6 to our customer back in 2018, so we know this machine’s quality is very high.

Running on OS: Version 1.40.12
Build Date: 4th December 2002

Our customer purchased one of the excellent quality Stardust synth covers for the A6 (pictured below), which is included in the sale.

Kent at KSR has gone through the A6, checking the power supply, the operational functions/switches, memory etc., and deep cleaning all the potentiometers, so there are no ‘jumping’ encoders, which is a known weakness of these machines.  As you can see from our photos, it’s cosmetically like new.

This Andromeda A6 is sold through RL Music with a 3-month warranty and can operate on US 110V or EU 220V. The A6 is supplied with an IEC power cable (UK 3-pin type).

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship this A6 worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements, so please email us if you have any questions about the logistics and/or need a quote.

Moog Prodigy

We are Brokering this instrument for and on behalf of our UK client.

Came into stock:

February 2022.

Service Status:

A full health check by KSR was carried out in February 2022, but a detailed service will be carried out once the unit is sold, which will add around 14 days to the post-sale completion.

Remarks:

It’s always a pleasure to be able to offer a Moog Prodigy, they’re like having an old friend to visit. This is a really super monosynth, full of thick sonic Moogy-ness, and punches well over its weight for such a little machine.

This example is a late EU version with the full complement of CV/Gate I/O on the rear panel – Model 3368X.

Background:

This late-model example was purchased brand new in 1981 by our client and has been kept at his home all this time, so a single owner only – that’s rare in itself!  It’s been packed away unused for a few years, so Kent at KSR did carry out a full health check and attend a couple of minor items that need attention, but he passed it as fit for sale, but it will be subject to a full post-sale service.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition of the control surfaces and keys is excellent with just some small signs of wear to the lacquer on the wood cabinet.  It’s quite possible to have the wood taken back and re-stained & waxed if you wanted but we think it’s best to actually leave it as-is, as it’s not damaged but just showing a little ageing….it’s 41 years old after all.

You can also see from the pictures we took that this Prodigy is fully 100% intact, so has all its original knobs & slider-caps, and the felt under the knobs is all in excellent condition.

Health-Check & Servicing:

As mentioned above, this system has been through the hands of Kent at KSR as a pre-sales health check, but we will have the Prodigy fully checked again post-sale and any service items needed will be applied.

The Prodigy is a EU220V version and will supply the synth with a UK type IEC cable. We also have the original colour-printed owner’s manual, and a PDF scanned copy of the warranty card from Moog for this particular instrument.  The owner has the original warranty card still so we can ask them to post that on to the new owner post-sale.

Packing & Shipping:

We can ship this instrument worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be some short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.

Oberheim OB-Xa, DX, ...

We are Brokering this vintage Oberheim system for and on behalf of our UK client.

Came into stock:

February 2022.

Service Status:

A full health check was carried out by KSR on all three units in January 2022, a more detailed service on each machine will be carried out post-sale.

Remarks:

Here’s a very rare opportunity to pick up a beautiful vintage Oberheim collection that centres around a superb condition OB-Xa, and is companioned by the DX Drum Machine and  DSX Polyphonic Sequencer.

Background:

Our client, the owner of this superb condition collection, originally purchased the OB-Xa from us in 2017, when we had fully restored it that year, so it’s been good to see this synth again.  Our client went to a lot of time, expense and trouble to subsequently source the DX and DSX machines from collectors, and was only ever interested in absolutely top condition examples.  All three machines have been located in our client’s home studio since he purchased them.

In addition, our client had made some very high-quality (branded) covers for the OB-Xa and DX Drum Machine.  The DSX also has the original proprietary interconnect cable to run the sequencer into the OB-Xa. We’ve included multiple pictures here to show all these items.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition is excellent with just some small signs of wear to the control surfaces and wood end-cheeks of all three machines.  You can also see from the pictures we took that all three instruments are fully 100% intact, so all have their original Oberheim knobs, faders etc.

This OB-Xa is an 8 voice system that has the 120 program memory upgrade fitted, as well as a Kenton MIDI kit.

Health-Check & Servicing:

As mentioned above, this system has been through the hands of Kent at KSR as a pre-sales health check and everything was 100% operational, but we will have all three instruments fully checked again post-sale and any service items needed will be applied, but the OB-Xa was fully restored in 2017, as mentioned.

The OB-Xa & DSX operates on either US110V or EU220V, the DX is an EU voltage model. A UK type IEC cable will be supplied in the sale for all three machines. We also can produce a PDF copy of the user manual for the OB-Xa and DSX.

Packing, Shipping, Insurance and Warranty:

We can ship these instruments worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be some short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.

As the instrument is being Brokered through RL Music, they will be sold with a full 3-month (return-to-dealer) warranty, covering all parts and labour.

Sales Price:

Oberheim OB-Xa = £6,990 GBP – SOLD

Oberheim DSX = £850 GBP – SOLD

Oberheim DX = £1,600 GBP – SOLD

We would rather keep this collection together and sell it as a package, however, individual sales can be considered.

As this is a brokered sale, VAT is not applicable to UK buyers, however, the packing & shipping costs are subject to VAT @ 20%, should you need the goods shipped to you.  The instruments can be available for collection from us directly in the South of England (Reading, Berkshire).

Moog Taurus 1

We are Brokering this vintage instrument for and on behalf of our UK client.

Came into stock:

January 2022.

Service Status:

A full health check by KSR was carried out in December 2021, and a full service will be carried out post-sale.

Remarks:

First released in 1975, the Moog Taurus 1 (47 years ago!), the Taurus 1 carved out a reputation as the go-to Bass Pedal of choice for most of the biggest bands of the day. It’s still in use today by many artists, although Moog’s reissue has probably retired many of the vintage units from daily use, it’s a killer bass synth nonetheless and they are now scarce and highly collectable.

Background:

Our client, the owner of this Taurus 1, has owned them for over 30 years and purchased them as he was simply a fan of the instrument and the association for the music they were played on back in the day.  The owner is not a professional musician, so the Moog has been kept in his home this last 3 decades and appreciated and admired as a unique piece of music instrument history.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition is very good for what is a floor-standing foot-playing instrument, so we would rate this 8/10. It’s clear but looking at the Bakelite pedal covers that this Taurus 1 was never used ‘on the road’ so it’s has had a very gentle life.  There are some signs of wear of course, and a small mark on the laminate cover, which we’ve highlighted in the picture below.  There is some glue residue showing from around the overlay.

The aluminium chassis & anodising is in good order and the faux wood sides are in great condition.  You can see from the pictures we took that this example is full 100% intact, and in really super condition overall.

Health-Check & Servicing:

As mentioned above, this set of Taurus 1 has been through the hands of Kent at KSR back in December 2021, so he has gone through the entire operation of the Moog to check its readiness for sale.  Aside from some cleaning of the pots and sliders, and the pedal contacts, the Taurus 1 is in very good operational condition.  We will have the PSU re-capped, a final clean and calibration covered off in the post-sale service, so please allow at least 2 weeks delay once the Moog is sold before we can effect a hand-over to the new owner, or shipping it etc.

The Bass Pedals operate on either US110V or EU220V as there is a switchable PSU (button on the back panel), and as the Moog is a UK supplied unit, so comes fitted with a UK 3-Pin type plug to the power cable.

Packing, Shipping, Insurance and Warranty:

We can ship this instrument worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be some short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.

As the instrument is being Brokered through RL Music, it will be sold with a full 3-month (return-to-dealer) warranty, covering all parts and labour.

Sales Price:

£3,190 GBP

As this is a brokered sale, VAT is not applicable to UK buyers, however, the packing & shipping costs are subject to VAT @ 20%, should you need the goods shipped to you.  The Taurus 1 can be available for collection from us directly in the South of England (Reading, Berkshire).

Moog Liberation

We are Brokering this vintage instrument for and on behalf of our UK client.

Came into stock:

January 2022.

Service Status:

A full health check by KSR was carried out in December 2021, and a full service will be carried out post-sale.

Remarks:

A genre of instrument reserved for only a few who can pull off looking cool on stage, but a few did. Moog came out with the liberation at the turn of the 1980s with something actually quite beautiful.  It’s heavy, yes, but it’s got the Moog Rogue synth architecture, so sounds very Moog and punchy.

These are very rare machines in 2022, and finding one that’s not been ‘restored’ in some way or another is even rarer, so we’d call this example a ‘survivor’ that’s 100% original in every detail.

Background:

Our client, the owner of this Liberation, has owned it for over 30 years and purchased them as he was simply a fan of the instrument and the association for the music they were played on back in the day.  The owner is not a professional musician, so the Moog has been kept in his home this last 3 decades and appreciated and admired as a unique piece of music instrument history.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition of both the keytar and the external interface (PSU & CV/Trigger hub) is very good, so we would rate both units as 8/10. The inherent problem with trying to keep a lacquered black surface on the keytar in good condition is always challenging, but we’d say the ‘cabinet’  has weathered the last 40+ years really very well indeed.  You can see from our pictures that the surface is in good order, with only one noticeable crack in the lacquer near the neck, but it’s not structural.  The lacquered can of course be restored if needed, but we feel the value in this vintage instrument is in its originality, so best left as is.

All the original controls, slider-caps, knobs are intact and everything still looks fresh and bright.  The interconnect cables are all present and in good condition, and looking at all the components of this instrument as a whole, you can easily see it has never been used outside the home environment since new. It’s a super condition example that would make anyone a proud owner.

Health-Check & Servicing:

As mentioned above, this Liberation has been through the hands of Kent at KSR back in December 2021, so he has gone through the entire operation of both the keytar & interface to check their readiness for sale.  Aside from some cleaning of the pots and sliders, and the key contacts, the Liberation is in very good operational condition.  We will have the PSU re-capped, a final clean and calibration covered off in the post-sale service, so please allow at least 2 weeks delay once the Moog is sold before we can effect a hand-over to the new owner, or shipping it etc.

This Moog Liberation operates on EU220V, we will supply a UK 3-Pin plug type IEC cable.

Yamaha CS-70M w/MIDI

Service Status:

Full service by KSR was carried out in December 2021, so this CS-70M is ready for sale & shipping now!

Remarks:

We’re excited to be able to get hold of this really super condition CS-70M as they really are quite magnificent synths for a whole number of reasons.  These were proper old-school designed hybrid digital/analogue systems made between 1981 and 1984, and it wasn’t long after these came out that the DX7 was introduced, which seems hard to believe really.

Those in the know will already tell you that this is one of the finest analogue polys ever made and a work of audio art in its own right.

There are a few demos on YT of these but we like this rather ambient-noodling one from ‘MoreAnalog’ because it demonstrates nicely how the CS70M has the CS80 vibe we are talking about:

https://youtu.be/1_jy9ERBTPs

Background:

We purchased this CS-70M from a UK collector who had owned it for over 20 years at his home, where the synth has been in regular use. The Kenton MIDI was retro-fitted to this CS70M before the seller purchased it back in the 90s, but it’s a welcome addition and really helps integrate the Yamaha into a modern studio environment.  The synth is not supplied with the consumable magnetic storage strips eluded to in the user manual.

Condition:

The cosmetic condition of this example is extremely good overall with only light user wear & natural ageing to the control surfaces. The faux wood laminate cabinet is in very good order with only a couple of spots where this has been worn.  We would grade this as “very good original condition – 8.5 out of 10 cosmetically.’

All the original controls, slider-caps, knobs are intact and everything still looks sharp and clean.  We don’t have any accessories with this, or an original user manual, but we can supply one in PDF format for the new owner.

About Servicing:

Operationally, our trusted and world-renowned ‘Yamaha CS Series’ restoration expert – Kent Spong of KSR, has already carried out a full service on the CS70M, so it’s 100% perfectly working and ready for its new owner now.  Servicing included re-capping the PSU, full system-wide test and calibrations and cleaning of sliders and pots where needed.

The CS-70M operates from 100V to 240V as there is a switchable PSU switch(s) on the back panel, and this Yamaha is supplied with its original and very specific 2-pin power cable.

Packing, Shipping, Insurance and Warranty:

We can ship this CS-70M worldwide, although the packing, shipping & insurance costs are not included in the sale price below, so are subject to quotation.  There may be some short delays in getting the packaging materials produced for shipping as they are custom ordered for the specific dimensions of each instrument.  We are happy to discuss your requirements so please email us if you have any questions on the logistics and/or need a quote.
